(Yicai) July 18 -- The GCMD was set up in Singapore in August 2021 after a recommendation from the international advisory panel for maritime decarbonisation. It’s set up with a mission to help international shipping decarbonise as quickly as possible by shaping standards, financing projects, deploying solutions and collaborating across sectors. 

Yicai recently had an exclusive interview with Lynn Loo, chief executive officer of the GCMD. In the interview, she shared with us the goal, effective measures and latest achievements of cutting emissions of greenhouse gases in the shipping industry as well as opportunities and challenges for ships worldwide in using green fuels and noted she is looking forward to the sound development of the shipping industry. She said in the end of the interview that collaboration and partnership is absolute key to decarbonisation in the shipping industry, not only within the sector but also across different sectors.
