(Yicai Global) Aug. 14 -- The International Dota2 Championship wrapped up this weekend.

Team Liquid from North America defeated Chinese Newbee team in a 3:0 victory to claim the champion's purse of USD10.85 million.

Chinese teams, including Newbee, LGD.FY, LGD and iG took second to fifth places respectively in the finals. The total award pool this year reached USD24.66 million.

Dota2's developer, US-based Valve Corp., characterizes it as a "free-to-play multiplayer online battle arena game" on its website, dota2.com.
