(Yicai Global) June 10 -- China's Hytera Communications' local unit recently received an order from Peru's national police force to upgrade and expand its existing private network communications system for a total deal price of CNY44.8 million (USD6.5 million). 

The Shenzhen-based private network communications system developer announced this yesterday, saying that it will use its upgrade software and platform to extend the coverage area of the existing TETRA network of the Policia Nacional del Peru and provide maintenance and technical support services for it over a term of three years.  

The other main users of this network are the nation's Ministry of Transport and Communications, per the announcement. 

TETRA networks were developed by the Teltronic unit of the UK's Sepura, which Hytera took over in 2017, including its overseas market. The company has thus far signed agreements for national and local police force network systems in in the Philippines and Brazil to build and maintain private network communications systems. 

Founded in 1993, Hytera provides communications solutions in China and worldwide. It supplies digital radio and trunking systems, smart radio systems, command and dispatch systems, communication command vehicle systems,emergency response systems, satellite communications systems, antennas, body cameras, and videos and accessories. 

It serves government and public security and the utility, and transport sectors, as well as private companies. 

Formerly called Shenzhen Haoyitong Technology, it changed its name to Hytera Communications in March 2010.
