(Yicai) Feb. 26 -- Airbus said it made sure that all visitors to the remainder of the Singapore Airshow, which ended yesterday, were allowed to board an Airbus A400M Atlas military transport plane belonging to the German Air Force after Chinese and Russian citizens were reportedly denied entry.
Airbus improved the visitor process so that everyone attending the airshow could step aboard and view the A400M, the European plane maker said on Weibo yesterday.
According to a report by Shanghai newspaper Xinmin Evening News, Chinese and Russians were refused entry to the plane by staff during the Singapore Airshow's public open day on Feb. 24. Some were even rudely escorted away, the report said.
Airbus is committed to becoming a trusted long-term partner of the Chinese aviation industry, it said, without providing details regarding the altercation between staff and visitors and whether the company or relevant parties authorized the denial of access to some visitors.
China’s first self-developed large passenger plane, the C919, and the ARJ21 regional jet, both made by Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, were also on display at the six-day Singapore Airshow and attracted widespread attention.
