(Yicai Global) May 30 -- Lubair Aviation Technology and China AVIC Electronics are just two of the many companies in China’s aviation sector that are set to benefit from the large-scale rollout of the country’s first homegrown passenger aircraft, the C919, that completed its maiden commercial flight on May 28.

Lubair Aviation provides Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, maker of the C919, with aviation materials and consumable aviation chemicals, the Shenzhen-based company said.

A number of China AVIC Electronics’ subsidiaries are suppliers to the C919, the Beijing-headquartered firm said. AVIC Xifei Civil Aircraft, for instance, makes the fuselage structure and parts of the wings.

More than 200 companies were involved in developing the products used in the C919, such as standard components, contactors, secondary power supplies and aviation forging parts, according to a report by CSC Investment Research.

Glarun Technology helped build the C919’s information system, Western Superconducting Material Technologies participated in developing its materials and Hunan Boyun New Materials provides wheels and wheel brake systems through a joint venture with the US’ Honeywell.

The C919’s long industrial chain will drive the technological upgrading and industrialization of China’s aviation sector, Great Wall Securities said. Already, the hinge arm castings, titanium alloy casings for engines and other accessories are all made locally.

In the future, the aircraft’s engines, avionics, electrical systems and other components will be developed locally, and the proportion of the C919’s domestic value will gradually increase.

As of the end of last year, the C919 had received 1,035 orders from 32 customers, according to the Science and Technology Commission of the Shanghai municipal government.
